Can you believe the silly season is well and truly upon us? Mariah has been singing for weeks now, Christmas parties are in full swing and trees are going up left right and centre. So this can only mean one thing hey? Its time for some Christmas shopping.Time to spoil a love one, grab a gift for the inlaws, the office secret santa and well even yourself. Treat yourself, its been a year! So whats this got to do with me? Well I'm passionate about supporting creatives, especially at Christmas.
Creatives, Artists, Crafters, Small Business Owners - We all pour our hearts and souls into our practice, only to get lost in the mix competing with the big multis ( I wont name names, but we know what I'm talking about ) So this is where you come in. Gift Art. It's that simple.
If you are able to get to a local market, independent shop or in contact with a creative please do. Not only will you get incredible, hand crafted one of a kind wares, but you also help keep our creative lights burning. Supporting your local creative, means the world to us.
So while there are plenty of us out there selling something for everyone, you just need to know where to find us. There are going to Markets galore this weeked, I should know I'll be at one ( more soon ) and well I encourage to get to as many of them as you can. Like I said, Gift Art. It matters.
Now depending on where you live and how organised you are, shipping is probably not an option now. This where the little guy comes in. Most local creatives offer local delivery or pick often with amazing gift wrapping - Something to think about for those last minute gifts.
If you can, make sure you give a mighty shout out on the socials to the local legends, it goes a long way - Trust me.
So now that the seed has been planted, hopefully you'll be able to find some local gifts this season and really make a difference. Lets be honest a beautiful painting or pottery thats one of a kind is sure to win any mother in law over. A unquie abstract paper work, the perfect secret santa gift and of course the mighty gift voucher! Who doesnt love a gift voucher. Dad, Uncle, the Sister in Law, the Bestie, the Boss - everyone!
